In Luke 23 there is a dialogue between Jesus and two men.  One man says I deserve my punishment, Jesus is not like us; another man says you deserve your punishment - YOU ARE just like us.  One man elevates himself to the status and stature of God another humbles himself and recognizes his utterly sinful and helpless condition.  One man says Jesus remember me, the other says Jesus perform for me.

Sometimes we are looking for a performance when we should be looking for an audience with Jesus.
